Let's have fun in 2009!

Well it's 2009 and January is almost at an end! We are excited to kick off our third year as Eau, a young women's group led by Dana Fry. She felt the Lord tugging on her heart to start a group for young women of Cross Points Church and any other girlfriends they would like to invite that would benefit from our fellowship.

We meet once a month on the third Friday of the month at Dana's home in Shawnee for a time of devotional and chatting. Dana's focus this year will be on Passion, Purity and Purpose and we are anxious to hear what God would have us to put into practice in those areas of our lives.

In addition, we are looking forward to having events filled with the fun and laughter that comes with getting together with your best girlfriends and having fun! Bowling, Miniature Golf, Scavenger Hunting, Coffee Shops and much more. It's a great time to invite someone outside the "traditional" church environment and yet still see the love of Christ shining through. We look forward to getting to know each and every one of you better while deepening our faith in Jesus Christ and His Word!

Girls Night Out at the Legends!!!!

Ladies,

Just two days away and we get to have some food, fellowship, and fun! Meet at the church at 6:15 to car pool and get to know some of the ladies in your car that you haven’t spent much time with. We are going to Legends and we will meet at Me Maw’s bakery. (If some of you need to drive and meet us). It is supposed to be a gorgeous evening and I have some fun planned for us as well. Don’t forget to ask a friend that needs to know Jesus.

August meeting: Respond, don't React

Our August meeting was great! Dana discussed with us our emotions and keeping them in check. Instead of continually using excuses for letting our feelings take over a situation, we must rely on Jesus and His strength to stay in control.

The point us girls truly took home was to respond versus react. When we respond with thoughtfulness (in light of God's Word in our lives) in can turn a situation with our friends, spouses and even children around. If we have a tendency to overreact with emotion it discounts God's authority in our life and the loving way in which He wants us to respond.

Thanks for the teaching Dana and being faithful in what God has given you to share!

1st Annual Women and Children's Clothing Exchange

Alright Eau girls, it's time to gather those clothing items and bring them out to our first ever clothing exchange Friday, July 18th, 7:00pm at the church!! This fun event is for women of all ages and sizes. Invite friends, family and neighbors. Child care will be provided.


Here's how it works:

Bring all your un-wanted, gently used women's and children's (boys and girls), shoes, jewelry and accessory's with you on Friday July 18th at 7:00. We will have tables set up labeled (top's, pants, shorts, etc.) for the women's clothes and by sizes for the children's clothes. You will sort out your donations accordingly.

We will have snacks and a short devotional led by our beloved Dana Fry and than a good old fashioned swap. Please feel free to come even if you do not have anything to donate.

All of the items left over will be taken to "Veronica's Voice" a shelter and recovery program in Kansas City for women and children who have been sexually exploited and abused. We look forward to seeing you there.

Annual Eau Family Picnic!

We had a great time at our 2nd Annual Eau Family Picnic! Thanks to the guys for some awesome burgers and dogs and thanks to each family that brought such great food!

Family Picnic!

Please join us for a family picnic on June 21st from 11:00-3:00 at Mill Creek Park (located just off Johnson Drive in Shawnee).

We will be serving hamburgers and hot dogs along with some great games and prizes! Please RSVP by June 18th and we are asking for each family to sign up for a side dish. We will give details on the side dishes needed as families are signed up, be sure to indicate the number of people that will be attending.
